£15,500 raised for Conwy Food Bank at Dewi Sant Evening
The 2020 Saint David’s Dinner was held at the Deganwy Quay restaurant on the 27th of February. It involved five chefs, five courses and five matching wines. Local diners were able to enjoy an unforgettable evening of fine dining by some of the most talented chefs in North Wales.
We’d like to congratulate everyone who was involved, the night was able to raise a huge £15,500 in aid of the Conwy Food Bank. The non-funded voluntary organisation feed people living in the county of Conwy who are in crisis and are unable to afford food.
Well done to all five chefs, especially to our very own Gorse Hill The Manor chef Wayne Roberts who cooked a superb roasted beetroot, red onion and sweet potato bhaji, spiced mango chutney and coconut yoghurt. Other chefs included, Mark Threadgill from Portmerion, Graham Tinsley from Carden Park Hotel, Glyn Roberts from Castle Cottage Restaurant and Ian Watson from Quay Hotel & Spa. Deiniol ap Dafydd from Blas ar Fwyd curated and supplied fine wine to match the dishes.
Glyn Roberts on behalf of the chefs last year said: “It's a pleasure for us to prepare a fine dining banquet to an educated and appreciative audience and for all the proceeds to go to families who struggle to put food on the table”.
Culinary delights were enjoyed by many that evening! Thank you to everyone who was involved.
